Erica Hoelting grew up in the Kansas City area and currently attends the Kansas City Art Institute as an Illustration Senior. Her work focuses on narrative through her comics and illustrations where she creates whimsical, adventurous, and nature-filled, illustrations full of fun creatures and characters. Erica also enjoys the handmade quality of various printmaking methods like relief printing, screen printing, and risograph printing where she explores all three mediums. Her work was recognized as a semi-finalist of the Society of Illustrators, William Eisner Scholar where she will also attend MOCCA in March. Currently, Erica is working on combining her love for storytelling with risograph printing to create her own illustrated book for her senior thesis. She hopes to further explore narrative by professionally creating children's books and comics in the near future!
